SO YOU WANT TO PLAY LACROSSE...

But which program is right for your child?
** All proposed timeslots below are based on previous years and are subject to change depending on floor time allocation from our arena partners. This should be finalized by February.

Fundamentals Program

The Sarnia Pacers Fundamentals program is designed for our youngest athletes and is divided into two age groups:

       Ages 3–4 (Birth years: 2022–2023)

       Ages 5–6 (Birth years: 2020–2021)

Schedule & Location: Both groups meet at the Point Edward Arena, typically on Tuesday or Wednesday nights. (Player will be contacted to select a night after floortime is finalized)

       Ages 3–4: 5:30 PM – 6:15 PM

       Ages 5–6: 6:15 PM – 7:00 PM

Program Details: Led by expert instructors, this program introduces the basics of the game: catching, throwing, and scooping. We use weighted "Swax Lax" balls to prevent bouncing and keep the focus on skill development.

Parent Participation: For the 3–4 age group, one parent/guardian is required on the floor with each athlete to assist with movement between stations.

Equipment: A helmet, gloves, and a stick are required. Athletes must wear clean running shoes. All participants receive a Sarnia Pacers t-shirt.

Gameplay: The 5–6 age group may eventually introduce non-contact 3-on-3 scenarios for those ready for a game-play setting.

Registration: $100 one-time fee. (A $50 late fee applies after March 15th).

Advanced Fundamentals

Ages 5–6 (Birth years: 2020–2021)

This program is for players looking to transition toward competitive play. It offers an additional floor time each week (typically Thursdays for 10 weeks) in addition to the regular Fundamentals sessions.

Focus: Furthering basic skills to prepare for Rep lacrosse.

Equipment: This session requires full equipment, involves minor contact, and utilizes real lacrosse balls.

Competition: This group may have the opportunity to play exhibition games against teams within our zone (London, Wallaceburg, Strathroy, and Windsor).

Note: This group is required to try out for the U7 Rep team. If successful, full Rep fees will be due immediately.

Registration: $250 for the season. (A $50 late fee applies after March 15th).

Houseleague

The Sarnia Pacers Houseleague is ideal for athletes new to the sport or those looking for a once-a-week commitment with no out-of-town travel.

       U9: (Birth years: 2018–2019)

       Combined U11 & U13: (Birth years: 2014–2017)

Program Details: Participants focus on fundamentals (catching, throwing, and scooping). We begin with "Swax Lax" balls, eventually transitioning to weighted and then regular lacrosse balls as skills progress.

Equipment: A helmet, gloves, and stick are required for the first two weeks. Once contact and gameplay are introduced in Week 3, shoulder pads are required. Kidney pads and slash guards are also highly recommended. Clean running shoes are required; a Sarnia Pacers t-shirt is provided.

Gameplay: 3-on-3 scenarios are used to teach game basics. If registration numbers permit, we will form teams for a round-robin format.

Registration: $150 for the 10-week program. (A $50 late fee applies after March 15th). Note: Programs are subject to change based on registration. Final decisions regarding Houseleague will be made on March 25th.
