Novice 1 at the Orangeville Tournament
Submitted By Andy Cadieux on Tue 07 03, 18
The Novice 1 team went 500 in the Barry Burman Orangeville Tournament this past weekend. Competing in this A/B tournament we saw some very talented teams which was great for our boys.

Our first game we faced a talented team from Clarington. With a weak start by Sarnia in the 1st period we found ourselves down 4-1 at the end of the 1st period. Battling back and picking up our game in the 2nd period we turned things around scoring 2 goals to close the gap. Going into the 3rd period was more of the same with boys getting their game back. They really started to press unfortunately we ran out of time and fell 5-4 to Clarington. We saw goals from Lucas Ross, Sully Toenders, Reeve Scott & Haiden Robinson. Assists came from Darrius Sinopole and Brayden Hogan.

In our second game we faced off against Barrie. The boys came to play all three periods this game and it showed on the score board. Never giving up on loose balls and playing strong on defense allowed the boys to get the offense rolling. At the end of the game the Pacers won 6-1 over Barrie. We saw 3 goals and an assist from Lucas Ross. Singles came from Barrett Hands, Sam Dezort and Brody Hyde.

Assists came from Mason Brown, Brody Najim and two from Jake Geary.

Saturday morning, we would see the boys playing a very strong team from Center of Wellington. Once again we found ourselves not playing our best in the 1st period being down 4-0 after the 1st. In the second the boys picked up their game and got things rolling. Battling on defense and hard on loose balls allowed us to get on the score board netting 3 goals by the end of the 2nd. In the 3rd period we would split goals and end up behind with a 7-4 loss. Goals from Lucas Ross, Roen Young, Blake Barnes and Brayden Hogan. Assists from Jake Geary, Lucas Ross with 2, Blake Barnes, Roen Young and Sully Toenders.

Saturday evening, we faced off against Nepean. We both finished 3rd in our brackets. We had a strong start to set the tempo and found ourselves up 1-0 after the 1st period. Continuing to pick up the pace in the second we were able to net 3 more goals going up 4-0 after two periods. The 3rd period was more of the same with hard work on loose balls and a strong defense. We were able to put 2 more goals on the board. Unfortunately, we gave up one goals in the 3rd to end with a 6-1 final. Goals came from Brody Najim, Sam Dezort, Julius Sinopole got his 1st goal of the season, Rosen Young, Lucas Ross and Mason Brown.

Both goalies, Cayle Jolicouer and Thomas Browning did a great job in net this weekend.
