Sarnia Pacers Peewee 2 Get in the Win Column at Confederacy Challenge
The Sarnia Peewee 2 Pacers competed in the Six Nations Confederacy Challenge this past weekend and posted a 1-3 record, posting their first win of the season in Sunday's medal round.
Game 1 Friday night was a rough affair against Kahnawake. At one point 8 players filled the penalty boxes with 3 from the Pacers and 5 from the opposing team. The game eventually ended in a Pacer lose 11-1 with Kaden Smith netting the only Pacer Goal.
Saturday morning was another disappointing loss to Simcoe 13-2 on goals from Andin Gear and Titus Hayes. Game three of the tournament would see the Pacers lose yet again but this time in a close 8-5 game against Sudbury. The Pacers offence was led by Owen McDermott with 3 goals and singles from Anderson Koziol and Ben Funston.
Sunday morning saw the Pacers face off against Centre Wellington and come away with their first win of the season 11-3. A total team effort had the Pacers in control of the game from the very start. Owen McDermott led the Pacers attack with 4 goals, while Nate Henderson notched a hat trick (3). Singles went to Titus Hayes, Anderson Koziol, Kaden Smith and Jacob Lush.
