In a weekend full of firsts, the Sarnia
Bantam Pacers took home 1st Place at the Conrad Rollings Memorial Tournament
this past weekend. From first goals to first shutouts to first tournament win
the team played first rate.
The Pacers began tournament play Friday night with a 6-3 win over the Cambridge Chiefs in the 7 team tournament. Saturday morning saw the Pacers face off against the home club Newmarket Redbirds losing 4-1 in a game that had plenty of back and forth action.
Playing 2 more games Saturday the Pacers won games against Mimico Mountaineers 2 and the Innisfil Wolfpack to close out the round robin with a 3-1 record. Both games saw the Pacers use a balanced attack and featured Keagan Smith netting his first goal of the season.
Sunday morning brought a Finals Showdown between the Pacers and the undefeated Toronto Beaches. Sarnia would prevail 6-0 on the back of Aiden Foster’s 2nd shutout of the tournament to take home the Championship!
